More of Day Four

We showered and packed before leaving to find the cruise ship and gas station. After dropping Sara, Logan, and Janie at the Canada Place (cruise ship dock), Dad and Drake ventured out to return the rental car. Vancouver like most large cities have a lot of one-way streets so getting lined up to drop off the Van was not easy. A quick check-in and ride to the cruise facility found the rest of the group just arriving after a quick Subway stop.

Several check points later we boarded the ship and went to our staterooms. All was good, so off to the Windjammer Café for lunch. Typical cruise food buffet where Logan proceeded to get his first bowl of many ice cream treats.

Drake found the basketball court and quickly made connections with some kids and spent several hours playing. The rest of the group watched the ship depart port with a cocktail. We were right next to the seaplane port, so watched plane after plane depart and land on the water. After we cleared the Vancouver Lions Gate Bridge, Logan and Dad ventured around the ship and ended up playing Putt-Putt golf. Sara and Janie did their own exploring and thought the ship was tipping over when they rode the outside elevator, a story at dinner that we just shook our heads at and glad we weren’t with them.

We all met up at 8:45 for our late dinner seating in the main restaurant and enjoyed a nice dinner together. Then we played some chess and finished the night with a night cap. The boys played a little pool and then watched a movie and read. Great first day on the ship and tomorrow brings a relaxing day on the ship as we head to Ketchikan.
