Sara came through customs around 11:40 p.m. last night and was all smiles as the pictures shows. Off to our hotel and a stop at Seven Eleven for a quick snack to hold Sara over until breakfast.
Sara, Logan and Janie took off after a late breakfast to the Granville Market area. They said you could not imagine all the fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, desserts and fresh flowers they had at the market. Unfortunately, Janie forgot her camera and Sara did not bring her cord to upload pictures. Logan spotted the Gelato and got Janie to buy him a cup and she said she thought he was going to lick the cup dry!!
Back to the hotel after Janie almost run over a couple as they were crossing the street as she was making a left hand turn to pick up Drake and Dad. We headed a few blocks from the hotel and spotted some interesting places where we could all possibly eat something different. Logan found a pizza shop, Janie had a burrito, and Drake, Sara and Dad had a Gryo. We ate and then we were off to Capilano, where the famous Caipilona Suspension Bridge is located. I am sure you all remember seeing it when the Olympics were on TV earlier this year. The bridge was amazing and
really fun to cross as it swayed quite a bit as we walked across it. The pictures attached do not do the rainforest or the bridge justice. The trees were so beautiful, large and view off of the bridge was spectacular.
After crossing the bridge, we walked along tree top paths and again, the views I can't describe in this blog. The walk at the tree tops (not really at the tree tops) are platforms as high as ten stories high attached in the trees.
On our next adventure, we rented bikes and rode around Stanley park. We all got a 7-speed bike and took off for a nice leisurely ride around the park. We got a good view from across the bay where we would be lea
ving on our cruise tomorrow. We saw quite a few sea planes taking off and landing which was a site to see. Sara noticed all of the nice fountains around Vancouver and she was sure all of the homeless (and there a lot!!) have a really nice selection of fountains that they could shower in, hence the picture that Sara is posing for below. Logan really, really loved the bike ride but after about an hour and half, we promised him we would rent bikes in Alaska.

We went back to the hotel for a quick stop and then took out walking for dinner back in the Gastown district. After being told we couldn't stay at one of the pubs because Logan was underage, we found a really nice Italian restaurant, Al Porto Ristorante and then back to the hotel. Janie then decided it was time for ice cream so we all headed out and walked and walked and finally after asking for ideas, we stopped at Cafe Crepes. Ice cream was ordered by the boys, Sara had eaten a donut on the way from Tim Hortons and Janie had her first ever crepe with Nutella. She thought she had died and gone to heaven, long story here but won't go there....
